Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 1982) is an acclaimed American actor. Most notably, she appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Her parents had divorced and they moved together with their mother into Los Angeles. In 2001, despite her finances it was possible to land her first major part in the web-based video series Rachel's Room in the role of Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002 she was nominated to receive an Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley. In 2004, Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost in which she was a main actor for the first two seasons. She was also awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared by the entire cast. Grace decided to concentrate on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. The actress has also appeared on Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 as well as in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. The actress reprised her character in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to Shannon's character in Lost for two more episodes, which included the finale of the series. She also appeared in the sixth episode of Californication. The role she plays is Faith as a girl who serves as a model for celebrities and attracts the attention of Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She's the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit older that Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in films starring her father when he was an adolescent. Along with her brother, she was also on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). Her next roles were in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's leading roles in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, as well as Sherrybaby (a drama) received her nominations for Golden Globe Award. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. Following her acclaimed performance as an unmarried mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she earned the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
